A new collection is being established at the University of Mahajanga, Madagascar. It focuses specifically on species from the Baracoffea group. The project is supported by the Rufford Foundation (https://www.rufford.org/projects/rickarlos-bezandry/ex-situ-conservation-three-coffea-baracoffea-species-adapted-semi-arid-regions-northwestern-madagascar/).
The species conserved include for the moment C. ambongensis and C. boinensis.
